Summer has definitely arrived and with it the irresistible desire to be outdoors (even if some days in Milan you would just want to be inside with air conditioning 😉 ). So today I want to talk again about how to style gardens and terraces.
The style I like the best at the moment is the one I would call “natural”: neutral colors like white or earth colors, natural and raw materials, fabrics like linen and cotton. A style that makes me think of exotic atmospheres, of Bali or the island of Thailand and that immediately gives me the idea of holidays and relaxation.
If you like this style and want to recreate it, here are some tips to follow and a “get the look” for you!
For furnishings, focus on natural materials (plastic will be banned) such as wood, rattan, raffia or even rope. If you can, choose pieces of furniture with a rough or matte finishing and, for the wood, left it in its natural form (like the sofa in the picture below made from branches or the table in the next photo). Even the rattan furnishings suit very well this style, such as the classic peacock armchair.

Yes to fabrics such as cushions, curtains and outdoor rugs as long as they are in neutral colors like white or beige or earth colors. The fabrics should possibly be natural, such as cotton, linen or raffia. They will contribute in creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Decorations and accessories are also needed: tables, baskets, lanterns, lamps … I will be repetitive but also these must be in natural materials!

Finally, plants should not be missing, possibly exotic such as cactus and succulent or with large leaves such as banana, monstera or palms. Even a corner with your favorite aromatic plants is welcome!
